Free WiFi hotspots in Paris?

You check jiwire.com for free WiFi hotspots in Paris and you get a nice link to the Georges Pompidou center. It couldn’t be any other way. A modern art museum and library devoted to make culture available to everyone.

Once you get there, you switch on your pocket PC, smartphone or whatever you use to connect to the net, and you realize that no free node is available. Then you resort to the ultimate solution (especially if you are a man): ask a clerk.

He points you to the bar and there you have it: a nice sign with the nice free WiFi logo on it. Again you don’t connect to the net and again you ask (again!).

He’s sorry to tell you that the Pompidou’s management forbid the bar (a contractor) to offer free WiFi access to internet. Too late. You already ordered a coffee that’ll cost you 4 €.

Later on you enter one FNAC store and from the bar you start to write a post to your blog.

Once again marketing beat culture. Even in Paris!

Zero. Zilch. None. No commento.

No. No, you can't... STOP. Please don't go away. Please? No one's ever stuck with me for so long before. And if you leave... if you leave... I just, I remember things better with you. - Dory
