If you are skeptical about Twitter, like I was a while ago, read this excellent article by Cive Thompson on Wired. I like the concept that Twitter creates a kind of social sixth sense which allows you “feel” where your friends are and what they’re doing in the same way you know where your limbs are.

Twitter is the app that everyone loves to hate. Odds are you’ve noticed people — probably much younger than you — manically using Twitter, a tool that lets you post brief updates about your everyday thoughts and activities to the Web via browser, cell phone, or IM.
