build your own web 2.0 website
Design Interface
Over the months I’ve noticed some aesthetic and functional aspects in web 2.0 projects. Here’s a checklist to help you make your own.
- Use rounded boxes everywhere
- Make it a one person project
- Use apple green or sea blue as primary colors on your website
- Use Trebuchet MS as the font for your website
- Use a horizontal navigation instead of a vertical navigation bar
- If you still need to use a vertical navigation bar put it on the right of the page. Never on the left
- Use large icons on flat colored rounded boxes
- Use extra-large entry fields in forms
- Don’t write too much text on the homepage
- Use AJAX as much as you can even if you don’t know what it is
- Add a blog to the website
- Move to the San Francisco bay area
Zero. Zilch. None. No commento.
No. No, you can't... STOP. Please don't go away. Please? No one's ever stuck with me for so long before. And if you leave... if you leave... I just, I remember things better with you. - Dory
