Piclens: Image viewing plugin for Firefox with a cinematic interface

Via Criterion I discover Piclens, a new plugin for Firefox (Mac & Win) and Safari that allows you to browse images on the web full screen with an advanced cinematic interface. It just blew me away when I fired it up while in my Flickr account.

Heres one of my Flickr sets seen with Piclens.

Do yourself a favor and download this beauty.

Once you have it up and running try it with the just created group to save Flickr from Microsoft.

Here’s my photographer friend Voro Sendra’s iPhone after he dropped it and stepped on it all by bad luck.

The picture looks impressive but the touch screen still works!

Wouldn’t this picture look nice in today’s Steve Jobs Apple Keynote?

I found this amaaaaaazing photographic portfolio of French photographer Denis Darzcaq. No strings no photoshop. Just people defiying the law of gravity for a moment. Don’t try this at home.

When the social elevator is broken you have to know how to bounce. Between the take off and the fall, the man parachuted in the city learns to control his trajectory.

teamwork that doesn't work in spain

Metaphors have different meanings in different cultures. Here’s the perfect example.

February, 2006. Sun Microsistems use a picture of the Catalan “castellers” (human towers) as a metaphor of team working in most homepages of their international corporate websites (see picture below).

I assume it’s a matter of culture: the Catalan picture would be understood everywhere as teamwork except in Spain. Wonder why.

See how the anonymous artist tagged a pile of dog’s poo in the streets of San Francisco. Or was he tagging George W. Bush?

As funny as it may sound, I wasn’t the only one taking pictures to this pile of poo.
